What is a deload week and when should you use one?
A deload week is a planned week — usually 5–7 days — of deliberately easier training, most often by cutting your weekly sets 40–60% while keeping the same working weights. It is scheduled lighter training, not rest, and not a break you take after something goes wrong. The purpose is to let accumulated fatigue dissipate while the adaptation you built stays intact, so the strength gained during the previous block can finally express itself.
